Self Discipline = Successful Living

If you would like to enable a featured page, it's quite easy. As you create a page in WordPress, make sure you select Featured Page for the page template.

Some areas of the Featured Page are hardcoded, like this one, so you will have to edit the page_featured.php file to get the text to show the way you want it to.

Successful Living

What is the definition of success?  The dictionary refers to success as:

  • The Favorable or prosperous trmination of attempts or endeavors;
  • The attainment of wealth, postion, honors, or the like;
  • A successful performance or achievement;
  • A person or thing that is successful                     www.dictionary.com

I don't see it this way!  I see Success as a Journey, not a completion point.  To me success is tied to happiness, as such, your definition of success, should include anything that truly makes you happy. 

As soon as you know what makes you happy, then you need to find a way to get there.  For some success is defined as a CEO of a large organization.  For others it could be home-schooling your children.  Only you can define success.

My answer to that question is rather short.  However, getting there is the battle.  And although it may be short there is a lot too it.

Success = Being able to do what I want, when I want and with whom I want!

That sounds good right? 

So this brings up a couple of very important questions…

1.  What do I want to do?
2.  When do I want to do it?
3.  And who do I want to do it with?

Those questions aren't that hard to answer.  In fact, I knew the answers long before I figured out a way to achieve them.  The bottom-line of all this is FREEDOM.  That is what I wanted.

I saw money as a means to achieve this.  Money = Freedom.  When I talk about money, I don't mean that I want it so I can buy whatever I want.  I have always wanted to make a lot of money not for the house or the cars but for the FREEDOM

What's Important?

Greg Meares FamilyFrst and foremost, my wife and kids are most important to me.  Everything I do I do because I want to provide for them.  I know it sounds a little old-fashion but I worked to create a better life for my entire family.

Whenever I feel like quiting or relaxing I think of my family.  In fact, I started all of my businesses with my family in mind.  They are what give me strength.   When trying to achieve your goals, you need to know the "WHY." 

Once you have this established, you'll have the fuel to keep on going! 

There are two other important functions of Success that I haven't talked about;

  • Discipline
  • Balance

Knowing your Why and being disciplined to take action consistently will allow you to achieve your goals.   The hard part will be to maintain balance.  Ceck out the blog section of this site because I will be discussing Discipline and Balance in greater detail.
