You’re excited, you believe that this is it.  You’re ready to achieve your goals. You’re ready for a new financial life and all the perks that come with it.

You dive into the training and you reach out to your Network Marketing leader…

You complete the quick start checklist:

  • Ordered my business cards – check!
  • Set-up email – check!
  • Set-up Office – check!
  • Set-up dedicated phone – Check!
  • Ordered some promotional materials – Check!
Everything is all set-up and “I’m ready to rock and roll”, you think to yourself.

First Things First!

On the fast start checklist (and your network market leader also mentioned this) … your first step to marketing your new business is to sit down and write up a list of your entire warm market.

So you document all of your friends, family and other folks you know, such as Mike down at the convenience store.

Once your list is complete, you begin to reach out to everybody.

Word gets out…

Some of your friends and family politely listen.  Not much happens.

Maybe you get a sign-up because a member of your family wants to support you with your MLM business endeavor, others start asking questions and basically start shooting holes in your big dream.

Hmmm, you think to yourself, “that didn’t go as well as I wanted it to.”

But you stay focused, and keep at it.  You really want this to work!

Traffic and Leads

You understand that the lifeblood of any business is the leads coming in.  The more that come in the more opportunity you have to generate sign-ups.

So you focus on finding leads.

You know that the your network marketing success rest on two things.

  • Leads;
  • and marketing to those leads.
You now undertand that you need to buy leads.  But it’s important to find the right company to buy them from.  But because these are completely cold leads, you focus on leads that provide an email address.  And you send out emails, and hear nothing back except from a few asking you to take them off the email.  Some of them are even nasty about it.

You feel a little defeated and the worst part is your up-line, although very encouraging is not providing you with the leadership you had hoped.

Network Marketing and the 97% Failure Rate

Old School thinking is why the Network Marketing industry has a failure rate of 97%.  This is really sad considering so many good people are willing to work hard and do what they need to do to make it happen.

The above story was mine.  I joined two network marketing opportunities and failed.  I joined a third one over a year and a half ago with completely different results than the previous two.

Why?

Because I completely changed my approach to this business.

Previously I focused on the business and promoted the business only.  This was completely wrong.   What I learned (not from my Company leadership) was that I needed to focus on me as the brand.  Once I established myself as the brand, my business began to grow exponentially.  

The technique I learned is called Attraction Marketing!
