Choices and Consequences
April 3, 2007
Do you have a clear vision of what you want? Knowing what your target focus is will help you make better decision and better decision lead to better outcomes. Indentifying your mission statement can be your first step in the right direction.
So whether you want multiple streams of income or a way to achieve your financial goals (wealth package) you must identify your target and focus on that.
Below, you'll find more details about this concept:
Choices and Consequences
By Sean Caruthers
Life is all about choices. Some choices may be simple like what to eat for dinner tonight. Other choices may be more complex like should I marry him or her. Some people believe we are the sum total of the choices we make in life. However, I recognize that chance and opportunity happens to them all. One thing is certain; we don't always make good choices. And we should strive to make better choices in life.
I had an economics teacher in college. He liked to say that most economic choices have pros, cons, and consequences. I believe he was onto something by mentioning consequences. We would make better choices if we considered the consequences.
What are consequences? Consequences are the results of the choices we make. As school children, we are made to believe consequences are negative. And by the time you start college your reflex is to associate "a consequence" with a negative outcome. As a matter of fact, consequences can be positive or negative. Likewise consequences may have a short or long term impact on us.
In most cases, deciding to continue your education is a good choice. So, what are some of the possible consequences of this choice? Possible consequences may be higher income over the course of your career, greater job opportunities, sacrificing leisure time to study, incurring the high cost of college, and or dealing with the stress of school and work. As you can see, the consequences listed can be view as positive and negative with short and long term impact.
Three years ago, I completed graduate school. I have experienced all of the aforementioned consequences of choosing to continue my education. The negative and short term consequences were sacrificing leisure time to study and dealing with the stress of school and work. The negative and long term consequence is paying off a sizable student loan due to the high cost of college. However, the positive and long term consequence has been greater job opportunities and higher income.
So, how can consequences help us make better choices? If you know what consequences (results and or outcomes) you want then you almost automatically make better choices. Quite naturally, I don't enjoy paying a sizable student loan with a long term. So, if I had considered the consequences of student loan debt then I would have borrowed less, paid out of pocket, and or attended a less expensive school.
You can see how considering the consequences can help you make better choices. You will discover that most choices have many consequences. So, my advice would be to make out a list with all possible consequences for a choice. After you complete the list, rate each consequence based on most to least tolerable. From here you should be able to make a good choice or at least one you can live with. Remember choices have real consequences.

For many finding good information on debt elimination and then on credit repair is somewhat of a daunting task.
For these reason I thought it would be beneficials for others to have access to this information.
I also included on the site several tools you can use to quickly move in the direction you want.
