Do you have a personal Mission Statement?  Build your own right now!

A mission statement is a brief, concise statement that lends a sense of focus and direction to team efforts.  The mission statement should be specific enough to serve as a benchmark for setting priorities and evaluating the value of a team’s performance.

The key qualities of a mission statement are:

  • Its purpose is to liberate energy, mobilize, federate, ethuse, and make people think;
  • It should be satisfying, reasonable, equitable, ambitious, possible and consistant with corporate culture;
  • It should look beyond the foreseeable future;
  • It must be clearly expressed;
  • It must NOT be just an economic goal;
  • It must NOT be parachuted from above.
